Recruiting Report: Henry Coleman (2020)
Henry Coleman, a class of 2020 forward at Trinity Episcopal, is one of the most versatile players we’ve seen in his class. The 6’7 forward, who was a standout on the AAU circuit with Team Loaded VA, finished up his summer on a high note with a top 40 selection at Hoop Group Future All American.
“I try to be a slash between a Draymond (Green) and a Kawhi Leonard. Try to be versatile. A leader. Things other people won’t do,” Coleman, who has played basketball, football, and baseball since age 5, said of his overall game. “I think my motor is underrated. To be high D1, high major you have to be a workhorse. You have to play at a high level at all times, and that’s what I try to do.”
Coleman currently holds offers from Penn State, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Winthrop, Hampton, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Old Dominion. Four schools, VCU, Virginia, Richmond, and Virginia Tech, have already hosted Coleman for visits. He also is reportedly receiving interest from Creighton, Oklahoma, Clemson, Tulane, and Florida among others. The modern style of basketball calls for versatility, and Coleman has no problem providing that.
“The most improved part of my game is probably rebounding. Just trying to average a double double. Also the assists. Those are big parts of the game and you have to learn how to do those,” Coleman, a 3.9 Honors Student, stated. “I need to continue to work on my jump shot. The three mostly. Mid range is pretty good.
What can Coleman bring to a college program?
“Just a high motor, and energy. Doing the basic fundamentals.”
