Recruiting Report: Gabe Bergeron (2018)
Dundee Crown 2018 center Gabe Bergeron is a 6’8” post that has length and broad shoulders. Good athlete that is mobile and runs the floor well for a post. Rim runner in the open floor. Works well in the pick and roll setting good screens and finishing at the rack. Finishes well in the paint with quick and bouncy post moves where he gets height on his shots. Quality rebounder in and out of area. D2 prospect that needs to be on more schools radars.
He spoke about the growth in his game since the end of his junior season.
“I know I have improved a lot since then. I wish I had put more work in then that I am now. I have had a ton of improvement since the end of the season. With the spring I turned some heads. I am getting more college interest. With that improvement I am getting more and more looks.”
What are the biggest assets in his game?
“With my length and size I can take people inside, but I can also beat most of those big guys off the dribble. I can step out and shoot sometimes as well.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“I have been talking to more schools. I am starting to talk to more D2 and a few D1s. Some of the schools I am talking to are Emory, University of Chicago, Dartmouth, Navy, Hillsdale, and a few NAIA’s.”
What will he be looking for in a school?
“I know I want a high academic school and somewhere that is really competitive in basketball.”
Bergeron played with Fundamental U on the circuit.
