Recruiting Report: Frank Robinson (2019)
Ellender 6-foot-7 post Frank Robinson is heading into his junior season without an offer, and has a wide-open recruitment.
Nicholls State is the only school which has shown even a bit of interest. It’s Robinson’s goal to have some offers before his senior season begins a year from now.
And it doesn’t matter from who.
“I hope I can get that offer before my senior season. I just want it to where I can have the offers, NAIA, D1 whatever,” said Robinson. “Just so going into my senior season I don’t have to stress about that, and that things are OK, and my parents are good.”
Already a defensive standout, Robinson has been working to improve his offense of late, and is already thinking about what could make him successful at the next level.
“I’m mainly known for my defense, but I also can score. The way my game is really improving, is I’m trying to get my shot better. Because when I go to college I know I’m really going to need that,” said Robinson.
He just wrapped up his 16U grassroots season, and says that things went well for him against the nation’s top talent.
“I was working on my ball-handling and bringing the ball up the court and things like that,” said Robinson. “I scored the ball well against top-notch competition, and in front of a lot of big-time coaches. I think I did very well this summer.”
As he heads into his junior season with the Patriots, Robinson says his role will increase dramatically.
“Last year we had a lot of stars, and now that they’re gone, I’m going to have to step up because everyone is going to be looking to me to be the star of this Ellender team,” he said. “And I want to lead my team to state.”
