Recruiting Report: Cole Bajema (2020)
Class of 2020 6’4 guard Cole Bajema had a stellar summer with Friends of Hoop. His recruitment is really starting to heat up. After playing AAU this season he should start to see some more offers come his way.
Cole was just offered by USF and that was partly due to his off-season work and his in game performances. This young man has a high motor and believes that he can play at the highest collegiate level possible.
Cole is a talented and athletic wing who is coming into his own in recent weeks. He is getting accustomed to playing at a high level consistently, and is steadily improving as he adjusts to the speed and physicality he needs to play with at all times. A 6’4 versatile scoring wing who can defend the 1 through 3. Cole does a nice job moving without the ball, and constantly puts pressure on the rim.
What intrigues me the most about this prospect is that he does multiple things very well. Offensively, he can handle the ball well in one-on-one scenarios and his size allows his to rise over the top of defenders to knock down three’s. He gets good lift and arc on his shot whether it’s off catch-and-shoot situations coming off screens or pull-ups off the dribble. Defensively he uses his length to help distort opposing player’s shot. His active hands help initiate fast breaks where he can give the crowd a show with his dunks. Friends of Hoops utilizes his talents very well by mixing it up between having him play on the wing and being the guy who initiates the offense.
With one offer in the bag and considering he still has many years to develop, mature and put his skill on display. Cole is definitely a mid to high major recruit.
