Recruiting Report: Christophe Bwanya (2018)
Christophe Bwanya will be entering his fourth year as a varisty player in Class AA in South Dakota. This a a very unique thing to happen, however he knows that it really means it’s his turn to lead.
The 6’3” guard who has played as a PG and an off ball guard at times, has developed his game every year since he was a freshman. He has learend from the older players through the years as he has developed as a player and a person.
“I learned a lot from the older classes on how to conduct myself on and off the court the right way. This year I really want to pride myself on being a leader on and off the court.”
This season, Bwanya and the Sioux Falls Lincoln HS team will have some big expectations for themselves. After transferring from Sioux Falls Roosevelt HS after his sophomore season, there was a natural adjustment period. Bwanya invisions teammates Diang Gatluak, Dillon Barrow and Alex Glanzer to be an imprtant nucleus for the 2017-2018 team.
“The goal is obviously to win a championship. If we play together as a team and buy in, I envision us being right in the mix.”
Bwanya cherishes the experiences with his teammates and the opportunity to play basketball. He had a great expereience with the Pentagon 17U National team this past year which has led to some interest from Division 2 coaches. He displayed a more consistenet shot and the ability to play harder and guard some solid pereimter athletes all summer long.
“AAU was a great expereince that has helped change my life. I got to compete with some of my closest friends and see lots of amazing places. I’ve talked to some local D2s as well as a couple further away. Planning on taking a visit to Concordia-St. Paul.”
