Recruiting Report: Christian Harvey (2018)
One of the more impressive players in the last year to come from out of the blue has been Richmond (IN) guard Christian Harvey. A guy that has been able to score with the best of them and is now starting to round out his game in a much bigger way.
Harvey, a 6’0 guard from the east side of the state, is the latest player from that area to pop onto the scene. He’s a bully of a guard that goes hard every time to get to the rim and he’s athletic and agile enough that he almost never gets stopped. He’s very acrobatic in the air and it is tough to get in front of him because he’s got a pretty solid first step. He’s always been a guy that can score a ton of points.
Now, Harvey is beginning to stretch the floor a lot more. His jumper is coming into form and he has some confidence with it. It has given him the ability to be even tougher to defend as he can’t be sagged off on all of the time. College programs are also gaining confidence in him as well.
Harvey picked up his first offer last month from Indiana Tech following our PHI Senior Showcase. They are on his list early but that list is growing by the day. Two of the newest and biggest programs to reach out have been Purdue Northwest and Akron.
Things are still in the early stages from Harvey as he finished up the summer with George Hill Rising Stars 2018. For his senior year at Richmond, he will be at the center of each game plan but he’s got the ability now to take things to another level. If he continues to step up as a shooter, he should be the latest in that area of the state to make some noise.
