Recruiting Report: Alex Casieri (2018)
A player that really emerged for us on the small college radar this July was Deerfield lead guard Alex Casieri. This 2018 point guard is a pass first guard that likes to get others involved. Showed his passing feel and flair for the game both when we evaluated him at the High Academic Camp along with his play for Wisconsin Playground Warriors on the circuit. Moves well without the ball to get open and is a solid shooter. Tough kid should be on D3 and NAIA schools watch list.
He spoke about his final run on the circuit this July.
“It has been going well. I have been working really hard in practice and it is showing in games. We have been winning tougher games as we have been playing more. I think I am playing solid. Hitting shots and playing good defense. Not trying to do too much.”
What schools are the most in the mix for his services at this point in the recruiting process?
“My top choices right now are Emory, Washington University (St. Louis), and NYU.”
He talked about what separates those three from the pack.
“They are all pretty high academic schools. I like the coaches and the campus at all of them.”
What is the next step in the recruiting process for the point guard?
“I don’t really know. See what else comes along and then I will keep taking visits to those and then make a decision.”
