Prospect Spotlight: Ryan Saunders (2018)
Joliet Central 2018 shooting guard Ryan Saunders was the ultimate glue guy for Hoops4Health this summer. He doesn’t get all the attention that Heckard, Creal, and Johnson do. Don’t get it wrong though he was extremely important to this team. The Joliet Central wing is a versatile player that does the dirty work. Gets after it on the defensive end and flies around for rebounds. Gets out in transition for finishes and when his three is falling it opens up a lot for him on offense. Great D3/NAIA player.
How was July with Hoops4Health?
“It has gone good. I am starting to get my overall game better and get my teammates involved. I am getting ready for the season.”
He spoke about the areas of his game he saw the most improvement.
“I feel like I am being more aggressive and for my position I am rebounding more. My shooting has been getting better.”
Saunders energy level is a huge part of what he brings to the table.
“That is really where it starts. When people tell me that my energy powers the team. One big rebound or defensive stop can get our whole team going.”
Projects as a small college role player that will do the little things.
