Prospect Spotlight: Patrick Readye (2020)
Belleville Althoff is losing a lot with the graduation of a class that might be the most successful in the school’s history. Their next star is 2020 power forward Patrick Readye. The rising sophomore has legit size and a strong frame. He is your classic back to the basket post that can score with hook shots and spin moves. Flashes a mid-range shot on occasion. Once to leans out a little there is no doubt that this could be a potential D1 prospect.
He ran with Brad Beal Elite 15U on the grassroots circuit this past summer.
“It went good. We have been playing up against a lot of quality competition and against the top EYBL teams so overall it has been going real good.”
How did he play from an individual standpoint?
“I have been playing well. I have been mainly playing in the post, but late in July I have been playing more of a stretch four and getting my mid-range down.”
Readye mentioned a couple areas he is working on developing in his game.
“My mid-range and dribbling.”
After getting to play with his high school team in June how much of a change will it be from last season?
“It is a lot different. In the past for Althoff it has been a lot of jump shots and now it is more slowed down getting layups and post buckets.”
Look for Readye to take on a much bigger leadership role and be the most productive player for Althoff even as a sophomore.
