Prospect Spotlight: Patrick Fisher (2018)
Bloomington 2018 point guard Patrick Fisher joined the Illinois Wolves 17U and saw significant minutes at the lead guard spot in July. Fisher is slick floor general that is playing with a lot of confidence. Best drawing defenders and kicking to open teammates as a facilitator. Also is an active defender anticipating and cutting passing lanes.
Fisher spoke about his junior year at Bloomington which ended in Peoria in the 3A Final Four.
“I think it went pretty good. We didn’t get as far as we wanted too, but we made it to state. We got a feel for what we needed to do and will come back next year and be even better. I think I did pretty well. I will have to pick up a bigger role next year losing my brother. I think I did a good job as a point guard and defensively. Now this year they are going to need me to score more.”
What are the strengths of his game at this stage?
“Defense I work hard on that end. Shooting. I can shoot off the dribble real good. I can find people spotting up and think I have a good IQ.”
He mentioned a pair of programs have reached out to him to express initial interest in him.
“I am hearing from Eastern Illinois and Miami (OH).”
Look for Fisher to be part of a Bloomington squad that should make another deep run in March this upcoming season!
