Prospect Spotlight: Michael Huff (2018)
Shooting guard Michael Huff is another new name that jumped on our radar with his play during the July live periods for Kessel Heat. The Grant High School wing is a plus shooter that lets it fly over and over again from beyond the arc and was accurate. He has a quick release and sound fundamentals. Mixes in a drive every now and then. Sleeper small college player.
He spoke about his summer.
“It has been amazing. I have been playing with different teams and different people every day. I am just trying to get better. It has been a great experience.”
Where has he seen the most improvement in his game?
“I have been working on a bunch of different things to improve my game. I used to be just able to shoot, but now I can drive and play defense and rebound. I am trying to improve game in every aspect.”
Huff went into the strengths of his game.
“I feel like I get my teammates involved and with me being at the three point line gives them more room to drive when people double me.”
He will have to be a key player for his high school squad this year.
“All of our seniors graduated so I am the only returning player. It is going to be a different type of play.”
Huff has heard from a variety of small colleges and should find a home at that level.
