The new school year is fast approaching and there has been some activity around the Palmetto State this week. Lets take a look in this article right here on your source for all high school basketball Prep Hoops.
Travion McCray will not be back at West Florence HS next season. McCray has decided to transfer out of state to Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville, NC according to his brother Oshwand Scott. McCray was going to be a senior this coming season but will reclassify back to the 2019 class.
McCray started his career off at Timmonsville HS before coming to West Florence HS last season. McCray averaged 12.1 ppg, 6.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2 steals last season. The Knights finished the season at 20-6 under Head Coach Pete Ellis.
McCray had scored 1,154 points after this past season. McCray plays AAU with the Karolina Khaos. McCray recently received a scholarship offer from Longwood University. McCray will for sure pick up more interest now that he has joined the 2019 class in North Carolina.
McCray is now the 2nd member of last years team to move on. Sharone Wright Jr. has transferred to Legacy Charter in Greenville, SC for his senior season. Wright a Wake Forest commit averaged 16.1 ppg last season.
Aaron Nesmith had a great AAU season for TMP. Nesmith 6’6 has narrowed his school list down to 7 schools. Florida, South Carolina, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Harvard and Yale are the in Nesmith sweepstakes.
Nesmith helped Porter Gaud win a 2nd straight SCISA 3A State Championship this past March. Just recently Nesmith and his TMP teammates finished runner-up in the the AAU Super Showcase in Orlando, FL.
Nesmith averaged 19.2 ppg and 4.3 rebounds last season for the Cyclones.
Solomon Skinner has informed Prep Hoops that he has enrolled at South Carolina State University for this season. Skinner helped the Hemingway HS Tigers to a Class A State Championship this season. Skinner played AAU with All or Nothing this season. Skinner started his high school career at Johnsonville HS.
