Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some recruiting news from around the Palmetto State.
Justin Busby (2017) has informed Prep Hoops that he will attend Erskine College (SC) this coming fall. Busby a guard from Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach played out the summer AAU season with Manzer Basketball Academy.
Busby played just 1 season for the Saints after starting his career at Waccamaw HS. Busby averaged 16.2 ppg, 3.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 steals this season. The Saints lost in the SCISA 2A State Championship Game to Zion Williamson and the Spartanburg Day School Griffins 76-52. The Saints finished the season at 20-12.
Erskine College is a NCAA D2 school located in Due West, SC.
Busby finished his career with 1,360 points. Busby was ranked #34 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this past season.
Rico Williams (2017) has informed Prep Hoops that he will attend newly formed Franklin Prep Academy in Clemson, SC. Williams played his high school career at Eastside HS (Taylors). Williams played AAU this past July with GSP Unified.
Savion Dawkins (2018) has informed Prep Hoops that he has registered and will transfer to York Prep Academy this coming fall. Dawkins 6’4 played at Blythewood and helped the Bengals to the 5A State Championship Game before losing to Dorman. Dawkins played AAU with the South Carolina Tigers 17 this summer.
Tyrek Walls (2018) has transferred to Fox Creek HS according to Predators Head Coach Andrew Peckham. Walls a point guard played at nearby North Augusta HS. Walls averaged 5 ppg and 4.5 assists last season for the Yellow Jackets.
Daniel Sackey (2018) has informed Prep Hoops that he will not return to 22FT Academy this coming season. Sackey originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada will play this season at the Thornlea Secondary School in Markham, Ontario Canada. Sackey a point guard has received a lot of interest on the recruiting front.
Sackey plays AAU with Team Canada and has received interest from Western Kentucky, Niagara, Stony Brook, Kent State, Stetson, New Orleans, Evansville and Winthrop this spring and summer.
