Notebook: Indianapolis Elite Camp – Wings
INDIANAPOLIS, IN | This weekend gave us a look at two major colleges in the state of Indiana at their Elite Camps. The University of Indianapolis was held on Sunday and brought in a ton of talent including a lot of out-of-state players. Here is our look at those standouts from the wing spots from the camp.
Drew Comer – 6’3 SG – 2019 – Greensburg (IN)
Comer was solid all day as a scoring two-guard. He shoots the ball well in stretches and distance beyond the three-point line isn’t really a factor. He’s got great size and his frame is filling out a bit now. He showed just a bit of his ability to create into the mid-range. If he can improve in that area, it would go a long way to helping his stock.
Braydin Myers – 6’4 SF – 2018 – Shenandoah (IN)
Myers is a big wing who has done well becoming more of such in the last few months. He’s more impactful with the ball in his hands and his size allows him to defend multiple spots on the floor. He’s good from the top of the key where his handles can surprise some people.
Darian Porch – 6’6 PF – 2018 – Indianapolis Pike (IN)
Porch looked good at the camp as he continued to show his ability to space the floor while still impacting the rebounding margin. He’s a little more fluid with his ball handling but not at the point where he can score a ton of the wing. That should come with time but the development of his perimeter game is really coming along.
Joey Klaasen – 6’4 SF – 2018 – Center Grove (IN)
Klaasen is a big wing who might be able to play multiple spots in college. He’s got some speed in his game and on Sunday he showed that he can play a little more uptempo and transition style offense. He’s athletic enough with the handles to create and finish a bit.
Kellen Schreiber – 6’4 SF – 2018 – Indianapolis Roncallli (IN)
Kellen looked good in some stretches on Sunday. His body has grown and filled out well in the last few months allowing him to be a little stronger and tougher and for a guy that already was pretty good rebounding, defending, and all the other little things, it only makes his whole game better.
