Notebook: Indianapolis Elite Camp – Guards
INDIANAPOLIS, IN | This weekend gave us a look at two major colleges in the state of Indiana at their Elite Camps. The University of Indianapolis was held on Sunday and brought in a ton of talent including a lot of out-of-state players. Here is our look at those standouts from the guard spots from the camp.
Ben Nicoson – 5’11 PG – 2019 – Center Grove (IN)
Really like Nicoson as a calm, collected leader on the floor. Really high IQ and with the ball in his hands, he doesn’t make many mistakes. He’s got the ability to shoot but is pretty good off the bounce as well and likes to go tough at the rim. Plays on teams with many scoring options but could put up big numbers at the same time.
Calvin Larkin – 6’1 PG – 2019 – Winamac (IN)
Larkin was really good and looked very mature in his game. He was really tough as a driving guard, a guy that can get to the rim every time down the floor. The transition style helped him look really good. Has some handles and should stay on the point with good size and a frame that is pretty solid already.
Michael Roberson – 6’0 PG – Central Christian (IN)
Roberson was really hot during the game portion of the even. He was really good when looking to shoot. The mid-range and deep pull-ups were on and he was putting up points in a hurry. He’s a guy that can be that spark plug for the offense at times. Should have good enough handles to stay on the ball for most levels he will get recruited at.
Edreece Redmond – 5’11 PG – 2020 – Bishop Chatard (IN)
Edreece has become one of the more fun players to watch. Aggressive, quick, and creative on offense. Will be a guy that puts forth the effort on defense to make an impact as well. Love how he reads ball screens and shows the ability to get into the lane ahead of his defender. Great offensive player right now.
