Notebook: Indiana Wesleyan Elite Camp Pt. 2
MARION, IN | This weekend, we were able to get out and get back in the gym for the first time since the AAU season ended. On Saturday, we were at Indiana Wesleyan for their annual Elite Camp. It was filled with prospects moving up the board and largely in that 2019 class, we saw a lot of talent. Here is our second of two recaps from the day.
Brennan Neal – 6’3 SG – 2019 – Whiteland (IN)
Brennan has continued to develop his game. He’s always been a good scoring threat but was built more as a guy to attack from the corners or shoot. Now, he’s showing the ability to attack from the top and doing it against more length and speed. He’s a guy that could provide offense in the 2019 class.
Caleb Norris – 6’2 SG – 2018 – Edgewood (IN)
Caleb was really good on the day. He was more aggressive than he had been and showed more athleticism than I thought he had in him. If he can be like that and play with a bigger motor, then his skillset will become a lot stronger of a presence on the floor. He got some scoring ability in him but a better rebounder and switchable defender.
Allen Plunkett – 6’4 SF – 2019 – South Putnam (IN)
Allen has been working his game into a new phase the last few months and while he’s still a bit of a tweener, he has improved his motor and still has that toughness to him. He’s starting to shoot the ball a little more and if he can add that aspect of his game into the forefront, he’s going to be really good in a year.
Rickie Wedlow – 5’11 PG – 2020 – Richmond (IN)
Rickie continues to show he is one of the better scoring guards in the class. He’s really skilled with the ball in his hands and loves that stepback jumper. His ability to shoot as well as he does opens up his ability to drive. Those two work really good with each other right now.
Cory Richards – 6’2 SG – 2019 – Franklin Community (IN)
Richards has really become a player that I like in this class over the last six months. He’s got great size but is capable enough, he can play on the ball pretty well. He’s creative with the ball but shows good patience. With enough offensive ability in his game, he has some upside still to tap into.
