KC: 2019 Sleeper Prospects
The PrepHoopsIllinois July road show ended in Kansas City this last week at the Sunflower Showcase and Jayhawk Invitational where we evaluated many Illinois prospects. Here are a few under the radar sleepers that we evaluated in KC from the 2019 class.
PF Charlie Pillsbury (Made Men 16U)
This Walter Payton Prep 2019 post stands at 6’6” and is quietly a productive player. Runs the floor well for his size, plays hard, and finishes in the paint on his limited touches.
PG Chase Robinson (Made Men 16U)
Robinson is a 5’10” point guard from OPRF that has speed in the open floor. Aggressive on ball defender that can get steals and turns them into points the other way.
SF Collin Dietz (Illinois Irish 16U)
Dietz is a versatile Metamora wing that does a little bit of everything. He can space the floor with his spot up shooting. Also a tough defender and contributes on the glass.
SG Malik Smith (Jets-Ramey United 16U)
Smith jumped on our radar in KC. The Alton 6’3” guard can slash to the hoop and get to the foul line. He got in the lane consistently in the game we saw.
SF Mohammed Alausa (Young & Reckless 16U)
Alausa is a wing from Chicago U-High that is an athletic and physical forward. He has the potential to be a solid perimeter shoot along with his strong slashing skills.
SF Alex Raiford (Young & Reckless 16U)
When you look at Raiford he is your classic 3 and D guy! Plus spot up shooter that can get hot off the catch from three. Also is a dynamic wing defender. One to track at De La Salle this year.
SG Ikenna Okeke (Hoopers Basketball Club 16U)
Okeke is another under the radar Bolingbrook product. He stands at 6’3” with a strong and athletic build. Scorers mentality and can connect from three. File this name for later!
PG Zach Toussaint (Kessel Heat 16U)
The baby faced assassin is a plus shooter from deep! This Johnsburg product can really shoot it from deep and passes with a lot of flair. Extremely fun and competitive player to watch.
PG Pierre Black (Kessel Heat 16U)
Black is a guy that is sometimes overlooked for both Larkin and Kessel 16U, but he is a lead guard that can really shoot it. Best in catch and shoot situations and can pass a little as well.
