July Stock Risers: Bigs (2018)
Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at who raised their stock during the July NCAA evaluation periods.
JULY STOCK RISERS: Bigs (2018)
Yor Anei, 6’10, PF/C, 2018, Sunrise (Kan.) Team Rush
Anei has been on the summer scene for several years and is a known commodity in basketball circles. He brings size, length and athleticism to the front court. He is a good shot blocker and rim protector and a good finisher around the basket. Has tremendous length and good agility for a big.
Jonathan Clausing, 6’8, PF/C, 2018, Augusta (Kan.) Wichita Padres
Does a good job of slipping screens and rolling to the basket for a big man. Has a big frame and good size at 6’8 and is a strong, powerful interior player around the basket. Looks to post up big in the paint and is a good finisher in traffic.
Keenan Fitzmorris, 6’11, C, 2018, St. James (Kan.) KC Run GMC
Fitzmorris committed to Stanford in early July where his sister Audriana is a standout volleyball player. He chose Stanford over a host of offers. Has emerged as an outside shooting threat this offseason and appears to be taking his game to new heights. Fitzmorris brings size and length to the court and has an old school type game in the post with solid fundamentals. He holds his own in the paint and battles bigger, stronger players.
Remy Lemovou, 6’9, C, 2018, Wichita South (Kan.) GTH 4XIII Elite
A kid that you really don’t hear much about but has some ability as an active shot blocking big man who runs the floor well and is active at both ends of the floor. His game still needs some polish, but he will likely find a home at the next level.
Andre Silva, 6’8. PF, Sunrise (Kan.) Kansas Pray N Play
Big man who has largely flown under the radar in Kansas hoops as part of a loaded roster at Sunrise. He is a strong, physical interior player who can finish above the rim, runs the floor well and provides his team with a rim protector and rebounder.
Hunter Schneider, 6’7, PF, 2018, Shawnee Mission South (Kan.) MoKan Select
Big, physical post presence who didn’t get a lot of varsity run as a junior as he worked his way into the line-up behind AJ Webster and Yor Anei. However, we look for Schneider to take a big step forward this season for SMS. He has great hands, a good feel for post play and a soft touch around the basket.
