Intro: Nick Savage (2020)
Pleasant Plains wing Nick Savage is a 6’3” small forward that projects to grow a couple more inches. The 2020 wing can really shoot it from the perimeter. Clean release and was excellent when we saw him connecting on threes off the catch in July. Savage has the potential to grow into a plus plus shooter from deep. He is still rounding out the others areas of his game as he is raw attacking and still growing into his body. Has a nose for the ball and is a solid rebounder from the wing position.
We caught up with Savage recently to discuss his game and what he feels the biggest assets are he brings to a team.
“I think I am a spot up shooter and can have a baseline drive every now and then.”
How did it go with Pleasant Plains getting back together with those guys in June preparing for next high school season?
“It went well. We had a couple shootouts that we did well.”
What does he see his role being on the team next year?
“My coach has asked me to play point guard so I will do what he asks me to do.”
Savage was a key go to player for the Illinois Irish 15U squad this past summer on the circuit.
