Intro: Keenan Jones (2019)
Keenan Jones is a 6’5” 2019 small forward from Whitney Young that flies a bit under the radar as he didn’t play as a sophomore due to a loaded Dolphins state title squad. Look for him to get on the floor this year. Very intriguing with his length and ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. Offensively shows well as a spot up shooter from the corners and wings off dribble penetration with his lefty stroke. Good athlete that gets out in transition. Defensively his length and activity level make him a plus defender that plays with a motor on that end of the floor.
His stock really rose with his play for Young & Reckless going from unknown to legit prospect.
“It went great. We are all playing great and meshing well. I played great. I got a couple of colleges interested in me. This only happened because I came to Y&R. When I was with other programs it didn’t happen so I am glad I came to Y&R.”
What are the strengths of his offensive game?
“Slashing. I can make shots. Rebounding is my strong suit. Making plays for others.”
Defense is an area that he has a chance to be very good at going forward.
“I am long at 6’5” with a long wingspan which makes it tough for guys to get around me and I block shots.”
What was June like getting back together with Whitney Young?
“It went great. We only played two tournaments because Coach Ty was trying to preserve our legs for July.”
He spoke about his early college interest.
“I have interest from Holy Cross, Western Illinois, and IUPUI.”
