Same Face, New Place (Part 2)
In anticipation of the upcoming high school season, we will be taking a closer look at various teams and players throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. In this edition we’ll be covering transfers, and the type of impact we believe each player could make with their new team.
SHERWYN DEVONISH | WISE ’18
Many can agree that Wise lose much of the talent that carried them to the DMV’s number one overall ranking, and a national ranking. Sherwyn Devonish, a tough left handed point guard from Bladensburg, is expected to step in to defend and lead. He should play a significant role as a leader.
MARCUS DOCKERY | THEODORE ROOSEVELT ’21
Washington DC native Marcus Dockery will return to home and attend public school after a year at Bishop Ireton. The southpaw has good size, skill, and displays a high basketball IQ. Dockery, who has reclassified into 2021, should benefit from an additional year to get his body right.
RJ FORBES | ANNAPOLIS AREA CHRISTIAN ’19
Sharpshooter RJ Forbes will give Annapolis Area Christian another weapon on the wing this year. The 6’3 wing is a versatile defender who spaces the floor and gives slashing PG Chris Jones an outlet when the lane gets crowded.
DREW GREEN | MCDONOGH ’19
McDonogh Head Coach TJ Jordan seems ecstatic about the addition of Drew Green, and he should be. Not only is the 6’3 wing a hard worker with big time athleticism, but he’s also an excellent student. Green should fit in nicely.
AMIR HARRIS | SAINT JAMES ’18
Amir Harris gives the Saint James back court versatility, size, scoring, and playmaking ability on both ends. The 6’5 guard, who recently narrowed his recruitment down to Rhode Island and Temple, has been one of the most improved players we’ve seen in the last twelve months. Harris has a good chance to flourish in what could be an uptempo style attack.
