Best Of July: Class of 2018
In July we saw a high amount of talent of various levels, over the next few days we will focus in on the best of the best that we saw, beginning with the class of 2018 players.
Greenfield School (NC) Guard Coby White– White has been a household name now and is a top 20 player in the country, he showed his usual scoring ability as well as playmaking during the times we saw him play. He’s quick, shifty and does a tremendous job of keeping defenders on their heels throughout the game.
Cox Mill (NC) Rechon Black- We loved what he brought to the PG spot, he’s long, athletic and does a great job of making plays for others. Although he is a pass first player, he does have the ability to score the ball whenever his team needs it from him.
Detroit Spartans Guard Anthony Roberts– Roberts came into the July live period without any D1 scholarship offers, well it didn’t take much time for that to change as he picked up his first offer from Youngstown State. He has a natural gift to score the ball and a body that looks like he can compete on the next level ASAP.
Wisconsin United Point Guard Tyrese Haliburton– Tyrese may have improved his stock more than any other player that I have seen, he went from having Low Major offers to big time schools like Nebraska offering him in the past week. He’s a 6’5 PG that has tremendous skill, although he can make plays for himself, he truly excels at making plays for others.
Greenfield School (NC) Guard Elijah McCadden– Elijah played very well when we got the chance to see him, he defended top talent well and score the ball in multiple ways. With the height and length he has, he does a great job of coming up with steals, deflections and blocked shots.
