Around the State : Spartanburg County Underclassmen Part 1
The talent in the Upstate looks to be good in the years to come. Prep Hoops takes a look at Spartanburg County Underclassmen to monitor in the years to follow in this part 1 segment.
Khalil Stringer (2019) – Broome HS
Stringer 6’0 guard is cat quick from end to end on the floor. Prep Hoops didn’t see Stringer this past summer on the AAU Circuit. Stringer averaged 9.2 ppg and 3.4 assists last season for the Centurions.
Trey Smith (2019) – Landrum HS
Smith averaged 25.9 ppg this season for the Cardinals. Smith left-handed guard has deep range on his shot and shoots the ball with a high percentage. Smith picked up a offer this summer from Coker College (SC). Smith will enter his junior season with 1,304 career points.
Zach Baldinelli (2019) – Boiling Springs HS
Baldinelli is a deceptive athlete that can really attack the baseline when the chance. Baldinelli averaged 15 ppg, 4 rebounds and 4.1 assists this season foe the Bulldogs. Baldinelli really has a great feel for the game.
Kamal Desor (2019) – Boiling Springs HS (pictured on front)
Desor is one of the better athletes in the Palmetto State. Desor 6’4 wide receiver on the gridiron Desor is very quick off the floor and has a great motor end to end. Desor might be looking to play football in college.
Joshua Moore (2019) – Byrnes HS (Duncan)
Moore is a left-handed player that looks to overpower defenders at times. Moore has strong frame is a mismatch in the paint at times. Moore will play inside-out on the floor at just 6’1.
Talon Cooper (2019) – Word of God Academy (Raleigh, NC)
Cooper has informed Prep Hoops that he will play at Word of God this season. Cooper played at Spartanburg HS and with Team Loaded North Carolina this past summer.
Smith, Baldinelli, Desor and Moore all ran AAU with Upward Stars Upstate White 16U this past summer.
