Around the State : Spartanburg County (2018)
Gabe Bryant – Dorman HS (pictured on front)
Bryant helped the Cavaliers win a 5A State Championship last March. Bryant 6’9 has had a great AAU season with the Atlanta All-Stars. Bryant has been home=schooled all his life has seen plenty of recruitment come his way this season. Lipscomb, Gardner Webb, Mercer, Appalachian State, William & Mary, Presbyterian, Georgia Southern, North Florida, USC Upstate, South Alabama, Tennessee Tech and Stetson have all shown interest.
Harris Finley – Dorman HS
Finley sports a 4.8 GPA and 1150 SAT according to Cavaliers Assistant Coach Brendan Marcell. Finley 5’11 plays wide receiver on the football team. Finley a guard played AAU with the Upward Stars Upstate Blue squad this summer.
Jordan McFadden – Dorman HS
McFadden has committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies to play football.
Uzziah Dawkins – Spartanburg HS
Dawkins 6’2 combo guard had a solid summer for the Upward Stars Upstate Blue 17U Squad and Head Coach Andrew Glover. Dawkins averaged 14.2 ppg and 4.4 rebounds last season for the Vikings. Dawkins will really look to defend on the ball well. Dawkins uses a nice pull=up jumper to score many buckets.
Seth Hewitt – Boiling Springs
Hewitt 6’5 is a sneaky athlete that can really run the floor well. Hewitt a fairly bouncy kid that will rebound the ball well. Hewitt was a bit of a surprise this summer playeing with Upward Stars Upstate Silver 17U.
Foster Bridges – Landrum HS
Bridges has been a mainstay for the Cardinals for several seasons. Bridges 6’5 averaged 17.2 ppg and 7.1 rebounds last season for the 20-7 Cardinals. Bridges has scored 1,255 points entering his senior season. Bridges played AAU with Upward Stars Upstate White 17U this summer.
Davonte Wright – Byrnes HS (Duncan)
Wright 6’0 guard has the ability to get into the lane with his ball handling. Wright really defends the passing lanes and has good length. Wright got a little too fancy with the ball at times and just needed to keep it simple.
Shaundre Miller – Chapman HS (Inman)
Miller 5’9 point guard is all over the floor when he plays. Miller helped Chapman HS win the 3A State football Championship last season. Miller had 76 tackles and 9 interceptions last season as a defensive back.
Nathaniel Lamb – Chesnee HS
Lamb has decided to play baseball at Clemson after high school. Lamb has committed to the Tigers. Lamb a left-handed pitcher was 8-1 with 1.09 ERA last season for the Eagles. The Eagles won the Upper State Championship. Lamb 6’6 averaged 17.6 ppg and 9.6 rebounds last season on the hardwood for the Eagles.
