Around the State : Greenville County Underclassmen Part 2
Greenville County looks to have some solid talent in the 2019 and 2020 classes. Lets take a look here in this article.
Justin Amadi (2020) – Hillcrest HS (Simpsonville)
Amadi was a beast on the glass when we saw him this summer at South Carolina Team Camp. Amadi plays big on both ends of the floor and rebounds everything in site. Amadi who’s extremely active on the floor runs the floor well in transition.
Amadi scores the ball on contact and explodes to the basket. Amadi 6’5 scored all his points in the paint.
Marquez Lewis (2020) – Hillcrest HS (Simpsonville)
Lewis is a another great piece to this 2020 class here for the Rams. Lewis gets into the lane when he wants to and likes to use the floater. Lewis a pesky defender on the ball can really cause havoc on the floor.
Steve Campbell (2020) – Hillcrest HS (Simpsonville)
Campbell 6’4 really likes to stalk the baseline. Campbell can hit the baseline jumper or slash the ball to the rack.
Derrick Fields (2020) – Travelers Rest HS
Fields 6’3 started off playing with GSP Unified before switching to Karolina Khaos 15U Gold this July. Fields saw great minutes as freshman for the Devil Dogs where he averaged 10.1 ppg. Fields is a magnet for the ball and really defends the passing lanes well. Fields fills the lane in transition and at times is looking to bring the ball up the court. Fields plays wide receiver on the gridiron.
Sam Brown (2020) – Travelers Rest HS
Brown has been home-schooled all his life. Brown hits the mid-range pull-up jumper and can really knock down shots when his feet are set. Brown 6’2 has a brother that plays at Furman University.
Case Roach (2020) – Travelers Rest HS
Roach is that glue guy who does a bit of everything on the floor. Roach 6’3 averaged 7.8 ppg last season for the Devil Dogs. Roach really does a good job of recognizing defenses and being vocal on the floor. Roach and Brown played AAU with GSP Unified.
Jalen Breazeale (2021) – Greenville Tech Charter (pictured on front)
Breazeale started last season as a 8th grader for Greenville Tech. Breazeale shows great court vision and speed in the open court.Breazeale is very poised for such a yung age. Breazeale ran AAU with the Karolina Khaos Gold 15U this past AAU season.
Tyler Bowens (2020) – Greenville Tech Charter
Bowen 6’3 is a stat sheet stuffer on the floor. Bowen does all the little things to make your team better. Bowen small forward has good length and really likes to shoot the baseline jumper.
