Recruiting Report: Aiden Bizardie (2019)
Six-foot-1, 175 pound 2019 guard Aiden Bizardie put up 18.1, 3.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.6 steals a game as a sophomore. Now at Red Cloud Aiden is ready for a big junior year.
“This year I transferred schools, I will be attending Red Cloud,” Aiden said. “They have three starters returning from a pretty solid team last year. I will be playing with my childhood teammate Russell Leader Charge, and my AAU teammate for the past two summers Ale Rama. So we already some pretty good chemistry.
“Personally I think we will win the Lakota Nation Invitational early in December and that’ll set the tone for the rest of the season along with a state appearance in March.”
Bizardie obviously has big goals but he sets them high and works hard. This young man will travel to hoop. He played with the Sanford Pentagon 16u club this past spring/summer, went to Vegas with the Sanford Pentagon National 17s squad, has traveled for camps, and works hard in the gym like his idols do.
“My favorite player ever is Kobe Bryant,” Bizardie said. His insane work ethic, that mamba mentality, just being able to take over the game when his team needs it.
“Another player I love to watch is Lonzo Ball. He is just a hooper, nothing else to it, he’ll rebound, pass, score whatever it takes to get the W. What I love the most and try to put into my game is his vision and passing ability.”
Bizardie has certain parts of his game that he wants to improve for his upperclassmen years.
“I personally think I need to be more explosive laterally, and just being more consistent with everything,” Bizardie said. “I need to work on my decision making on the court. Really just need to sharpen up my whole game.”
Aiden worked on that with the Sanford Pentaton Clubs from April through July.
“The biggest highlight was being moved up and going with the 17u National Team to Vegas. I really like traveling with those guys, you can learn a lot from them on and off the court.
“Secondly playing well with our 16’s team from being undersized and not that athletic compared to other teams. We worked hard on the defensive end and ran in transition.
“Over the four months of AAU I really picked up my defense! I used to be the laziest defender out there. Now I’m locked in and ready to play hard on both ends of the court, and just slowing the game down not forcing shots, taking good game shots and just being more consistent with it.”
Aiden is the type of competitor that will play college basketball. What level? That is still to be determined but some schools have called.
“I’m hearing from Concordia in Nebraska, Southwest Minnesota State, Augustana University, and Mount Marty,” Aiden said.
