AZ Power Black 17U Watch List
Christian Anigwe
Although Anigwe lists himself as a PF, he is more suited to be a C at this point. He has a big body, plays well with his back to the basket, and has a consistent mid-range jumper. He has improved his ability to take defenders off of the dribble. As he continues to improve his skills as a 4, he will become even more versatile and more of an asset to a school at the next level. Anigwe also provides good length and athleticism on the defensive side of the basketball and can guard most 4s and 5s.
Isaiah Rhymes
Rhymes is a walking double-double. He is stock is largely due to his balanced game which enables him to play anywhere from a 1-4 at the high school level. He has a solid enough handle that he could potential share the backcourt as a 2 or play the 3 at the next level. He is strong off of the dribble and finishes well around the rim. He also has a solid post game which enables him to take smaller defenders on the block. Despite only being 6’4, he plays with great energy and tracks rebounds and loose balls extremely well.
Alijah Gammage
Gammage made the transfer to Chandler last year and ended up being involved in the rotation heavily by the end of the year. He has good speed and quickness which enables him to get by the first defender and draw help. Once he gets to the second level, he has a good feel for where the help is coming from and kicks the basketball to the open man. He makes players around him better. In addition, he is a stout on ball defender. His athleticism and work ethic have made him one of the top two sport players in the state.
