Recruiting Report – Judah Jordan (2019)
Judah Jordan, a top 2019 guard in the DMV area is a smooth young player prepared to play at a high division 1 level. The 6’2 point guard can play and defend both guard positions with his wide array of skills and solid athleticism. Playing hard on both ends of the court at all times, he can score from all areas of the court while also becoming a defensive force. Jordan plays for Capitol Christian Academy of Landover, MD as a key contributor and also plays his grassroots ball for EYBL Team Melo. His play to date has him ranked as the #32 2019 player in the state by Prep Hoops MD.
Currently, Judah is playing across the circuit for EYBL Team Melo with solid play so far this season. Thus far, averaging 12 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, & 2 steals a game on a loaded roster. Discussing his play, he stated “I had a solid performance against BABC in the first EYBL session and I played well the entire session of EYBL in Atlanta.” Judah was most recently seen at Fab 48 in Las Vegas.
Last winter for Capitol Christian, Jordan had some injuries that limited him but still had solid performances. One injury, keeping him out of the Governor’s Challenge holiday showcase tournament. The 6’2 guard had multiple solid performances in his sophomore campaign, including an early season breakout 26 point game in November vs. a big Mountain Mission team. Scoring 15 in the second half and hitting 13 of 14 foul shots, Jordan is capable of putting up performances like this any night over his next two seasons and at the next level.
Judah’s game is very smooth and appears to come easy to him with solid handles that benefit him in a plethora of ways. He gets to the rim easily which puts him on the line often from crafty finishes, but can also knock down shots from all over the court. Jordan describes his game as “Very efficient & smooth, a bit flashy and a bit gritty.” As a rising junior, he stills has time to develop and improve more in which he plans to “improve on shooting mainly & improve on my body a lot.” says Judah.
In regard to playing at the college level, Jordan says “I’m trying to play high major Division 1 basketball. I’m looking for a program that is going to push me academically and athletically, a program that feels like family, and a family that will prep me to touch the league.” The rising Junior currently has offers from Towson, Penn State & Hampton with a visit to George Mason soon. Judah says he is also drawing interest from St. Joseph, Holy Cross, UPenn, Stanford, Yale, Maryland, & Princeton, appearing as his goal of playing D1 will be very possible, as it is deserved.
This 6’2 guard is a dynamic play maker that is going to make some legit noise in the area in his junior and senior campaigns to prove he is very capable of playing at the Division 1 level.
