Recruiting Report: Jacob Hall (2018)
Alton Marquette 6’7” power forward Jacob Hall has good size and mobility. Excellent area rebounder that snatches boards with his strong hands. Versatile offensive threat. Hall has expanded his game to where he is now a legit threat in the pick and pop game shooting it. Good screener that can both pop and roll to the hoop. Good hands catching passes in traffic and finishes with a soft touch around the rim. Seals in the high/low game. Solid passer out of the post. High level D3/NAIA post prospect that has his stock on the rise heading into July!
Hall discussed his spring on the circuit with Gateway Illinois 17U.
“The spring went really well. We competed against a bunch of really good teams. We are looking to come back in July and compete even more.”
He was able to get back with his guys at Alton Marquette in June playing with a strong group led by a trio including himself, Sammy Green, and Isaiah Ervin.
“We are losing a real big motivator on our team so someone has to step up this year. Since he is the only we are losing I feel we should be able to compete. I am trying to help lead our guys.”
What are the biggest assets in his game at this stage?
“My strengths are getting to the glass for rebounds and get my team second chance opportunities. Also my footwork can get better. I have been working on that a lot down in the post. I have been in the gym trying to add range on my shot to get big guys to guard me on the three.”
Hall updated us on his recruitment.
“I am in touch with a couple NAIA schools. Waldorf, St. Ambrose, Brescia University, and North Central.”
The rising senior told us what he will be looking for in a program.
“Anywhere I have a good connection with the coach. A good atmosphere.”
