Recruiting Report: Eddie Turner III (2018)
Class of 2018 6’0 guard Eddie Turner III is turning heads this summer stock is rising each game.
Eddie Tuner is one of the more dynamic scorers in the Class of 2018. From the looks of his game at the showcase, he has been working on his jumper from deep and his court awareness. He knocked down the long ball with consistency throughout the day. He also showed his passing skills with ball-screen action. Eddie has added strength to his frame which allows him to finish better in around the basket.
After playing for Seattle Rotary last summer, Turner now plays for Team Bradley in the Adidas circuit and he has been playing really well. He is a pass first point guard, always applying pressure on defense and finding the open teammate. He is very shifty, exploding out of his moves for easy buckets and knocking down shots more consistently now. Turner should pick up more college interest this summer.
Eddie explains his experience briefly,
“It’s been great, I’ve been working myself in to the system now,” Eddie said. “I just love the team, everyone gets along very well. The coaches really care about you during the regular season and in your other sports. A lot of people say their teams are like families, but in the offseason our coaches are always around. You can just shoot them a text.”
“I am an exciting and energetic player to watch. I am a knock down shooter, a lockdown defender, and do all of the little things to make sure my team achieves success,” said Eddie, who will be playing with Team Bradley this summer. “I would say that people don’t recognize what I do on the court regarding my leadership and how I’m always talking to my teammates or picking them up when they’re down. People also don’t recognize the little things that I have done since a young age such as making sure I’m always in help on defense and staying true to my fundamentals.”
“My most improved aspect of my game in the past 12 months would have to be the consistency on my shot and my pull up game. Also, my on ball defense and athleticism in terms of strength, size, and speed have improved dramatically,” Eddie stated. “I need to work on my ball handling and my overall game in every aspect.”
“Three things that I will take with me no matter what school I go to are my shooting ability, my pride on defense, and my heart/energy. I also bring versatility in being able to play each guard position.”
