Recruiting Report: Duoth Gach (2018)
Duoth Gach. You know the name, he was the guy flying around the Target Center this past March like it’s his every day home.
The Packers were 29-3 last winter and came one game short of a Class AAA State Championship. Duoth gave his team 15.6 points a game shooting 44 percent from the arc.
This summer he’s played in a tournament with his Austin teammates nearly every weekend including several Breakdown events and Gopher team camp.
“I think that I grew this summer by working on my game a lot and trying to get better,” Duoth said. “I need to be attacking the rim more! And getting rebounds.”
Duoth played with D1 Minnesota this spring along with brother Both Gach and now the pair is competing with Powerhouse Minnesota who just won the Great Plains Alliance.
“This spring I learned that you have to be physical and stand your ground and be ready for the challenge,” Gach told Prep Hoops. “Like the Adidas Gauntlet you have to come ready to play or you will get embarrassed.”
Duoth will play college basketball there is no doubt. He is a top 25 or better prospect in the state of Minnesota.
“I’m hearing from like Winona State and like some juco in Colorado. I want to take visits but I don’t know when I will yet.”
So what is next for Duoth? Let people know who he is this summer and then bring home gold next March, that is the goal.
“My goal is to go out and play and make a name for myself this month,” Duoth said. “For the high school season the goal is to get back to state and win a championship next year.”
