Recruiting Report: Canin Reynolds (2020)
Canin Reynolds, a class of 2020 guard at Landon, is among the most dynamic lead guards in the DMV. Given the fact that his team graduates the top two scorers from last season, Reynolds is a strong candidate to pick up the slack in that department.
“My game is kind of a drive and kick once everyone collapses, because I love to be in the lane and get my team involved. I get mine when it comes,” Reynolds explained. “One thing I see is everyones emotions. Especially the other team. I know who to attack because of that.”
At first look, Reynolds does not seem like much of a threat. He’s about 5’6, and 130 pounds soaking wet. But he’s super quick, and can really light it up from the perimeter. We saw him go for 35, and make it look easy in a one point win over Springbrook at the BSN Summer League.
“Last year, my shot would not fall, but I have been waking up at 5:30 to get to the gym to find the right touch,” said Reynolds. “I need to get stronger, and get my bounce up, because everyone plays above the rim now.”
Reynolds believes that his grades still need improvement, but carries a respectable 3.4 GPA. Lincoln Memorial is the only school recruiting him at the moment, but he says he is still working in hopes of expanding that list. What can Reynolds bring to a college program?
“I think I can bring the concept of on court coach, because I love to lead.”
