Prospect Spotlight: Hayden Langkabel (2018)
The class of 2018 in Indiana has quite a few things were it does have some strengths. Mid-level on-ball guards is one of those strengths. Looking at Morristown (IN) guard Hayden Langkabel, he’s one of those that has become front and center for some top end NAIA programs.
While Langkabel has been among the top players this summer on the AAU circuit, the one thing that stands out now at the end of it has been his consistency. He’s the same player now as he was in the beginning of the Spring and he doesn’t really ever drop off. He’s consistent from level of competition as well. He can handle long, athletic wings and guards as well as speedy guards who want to create havoc with their pace. He doesn’t change between the competition.
Among the competition for Hayden, the 6’0 guard has picked up a recent offer from Indiana Tech. That is to go along with offers from Saint Francis (IN) and Marian. He’s also drawing interest from Indiana Wesleyan and Maryville (MO). The three NAIA offers are just the start of his recruiting at this point. He’s been on campus at Saint Francis and Marian recently.
The recruitment of Langkabel could be an interesting one. His older brother played at Northwood (MI), a DII program out of Michigan but the younger Langkabel seems like a perfect fit for the powerhouse NAIA programs in Indiana. Following this final weekend, he could draw more and more interest as a proven commodity over the last few months of AAU.
