Prospect Spotlight: Garrett Glenn (2018)
Black Hills 6-foot-2 guard Garrett Glenn is one of Washington’s under-recruited prospects, and is a guy who can bring sharpshooting and combo-guard skills to a squad.
The under-the-radar rising senior defined his specific skill-set in a recent phone interview with PHIA.
“I would definitely say that I excel the most at my outside shooting, a lot of 3-point shooting and catch-and-shoot,” said Glenn. “And I feel like I’m a pretty good passer and have good court vision, so when people come at me I can find my teammates well.”
Last season as a Junior, Glenn averaged 11.2 points for the Wolves. He says it was a smooth transition from his more limited role as a sophomore.
“I thought I had a lot bigger role from my sophomore season. I was the sixth-man my sophomore season, and it was easy to slip into a much larger role with my good teammates and coaching,” said Glenn.
“I thought I shot the ball really well last season, and I’ve been working on my inside game, driving to the hole and attacking more.”
Now, as he heads into his 17U summer with TC Cougars, he’s hoping to put his name on the map, at the very least.
“No recruitment, really,” said Glenn.
“I like my (TC Cougars) teammates a lot, and I’m looking forward to playing with them one last time. And I’m hoping that I can get some colleges to look at me and at least get some interest in me before my senior year.”
He added: “Maybe not pick any offers up, but at least get some colleges to come to some Black Hills games this winter.”
