PHI Senior Showcase: Eric’s Guard Standouts
This past weekend, we brought in 90 of the top 2018’s from around the state of Indiana. Together, with more than 30 college programs in the gym, we showcased that talent and we had a great day. When looking back, there were some definite standouts. Today, I detail my favorite guards from the event.
Eli Streeval (Morristown) – Eli was one of the more impressive kids in this event because he just surprised you. I’ve seen him play a lot during the month of June but on this day he was trying to dunk everything. He’s the type of kid that really plays hard and can really change the attitude of the game. Has impressed enough this month, including Saturday, to really prove he can play at the next level.
Dylan Penn (Ev. Memorial) – Penn might have been my most impressive player I saw. With his new height at 6’2, all the things he does are even more impressive. He’s more aggressive and he’s shooting the ball pretty well right now. Easy looking DII prospect and if he can have a really good July he could pick up a few more offers to go along with Bellarmine. Love his length and the ability to stay on the point.
Hunter White (Tindley) – White was really good yet again. Any time he isn’t with his high school team, you can really see the potential. He’s more aggressive and effective than you think and with his height, he’s plenty capable of overpowering smaller guards. Not sure if he stays on the ball at the next level but he showed again this past weekend that he can score it so well it really doesn’t matter.
Christian Harvey (Richmond) – Harvey has been a guy that just needed the right exposure and to be feeling it from distance. He’s not a great three-point shooter but this past weekend he looked pretty good. One of the better scorers in the state. He picked up his first offer this past weekend from Indiana Tech and should be in line for more during July. Was more balanced this weekend than we have seen before.
Jaden Terry (Lawrence Central) – Was really impressed with Terry. He’s a smaller guard but he has a bit of strength on him now and wasn’t backing down. He’s got a decent jumper from distance and looked like he was able to be a bigger scoring threat than he has been previous. He should get more opportunities for his high school team as well and this could be the start of a nice run for him.
