Peach Jam Stock Risers: Part 1
Prep Hoops is in the house at the Nike Peach Jam 2017. Get a look at the first set of many reports from North Augusta, South Carolina. Several players shined raising there stock. While others continued to dominate regularly as they have all spring and summer. Get the latest below.
Jericole Hellems 2018 6’7 Bradley Beal Wing
Hellems had quite the performance on Thursday for Bradley Beal. He is long lanky with a jump shot. Throughout the day Hellems crashed the boards hard on both ends. He had active hands on defense. In the paint Hellems was very efficient finishing through traffic. He is slander and seems to thrive more on the outside, but on Thursday he proved he has an inside out game. Hellems played a very well all-around game Thursday.
Shaun Williams 2018 6’3 Bradley Beal Point Guard
Williams was super quick with the basketball in his hands at the Point Guard spot. He scanned the floor well and ran the offense with ease. When the opportunity arose Williams attacked the basket fearlessly. He has some sick handles, which allow him to create openings for others and himself. Williams raised his stock on Thursday.
Marvin Bagley 2018 6’11 Nike Phamily Forward
Bagley was unstoppable, but what is new? He attacked the rim through double teams, finishing well around the rim. He gave the crowd a couple of impressive jams. It was the passing skills that really impressed. Each time they threw double teams his way, Bagley seemed to make the right pass to an open teammate. Bagley willed his team to victory with his scoring, passing and rebounding efforts.
Taeshon Cherry 2018 6’10 Oakland Soliders Forward
Cherry has a great long, strong build. He showed nice touch on his three-point shot. The handles of Cherry at 6’10 were impressive as he ran the fast break several times. The recent USC commit went down with an ankle injury in the game, but returned later in the second half. He had a good start to the game and hopes to battle through his ankle injury for the rest of the weekend.
Sekou Toure 2018 6’6 Oakland Soliders Wing
He ran the fast break well giving the Oakland Soldiers a boost on the Wing. Toure showed off his athleticism with very active plays on both ends. Best way to describe the way Toure played on Thursday was energizer bunny. It was refreshing to see a kid put everything he had at all times on the floor.
Jarvis Thomas 2018 6’9 Howard Pulley Forward
Thomas is a long Wing/Forward that showed his versatility with his length and athleticism. On the defensive end Thomas is a pest using his strength and size to be a problem. Because of his length and athleticism Thomas is able to get out and Guard smaller quicker Guards on switches. He did a good job of making shots when he got his opportunities.
Tre Jones 2018 6’4 Howard Pulley Point Guard
Ice was flowing through Jones veins late in the contest on Thursday. The bigger the moment got in the game against Team Melo the better Jones played. He displayed a great hesitation dribble that kept defenders off guard. Each time Jones really needed a bucket for his team he went to his big time fade away mid-range jumper. He is a witty Guard that has a knack for making others around him better. Jones hit a huge three-pointer late in the game against Team Melo to push Howard Pulley over the top.
