Palmetto State : 2018 Sleepers
Prep Hoops SC can’t wait to take in the action this July from around the Palmetto State. Prep Hoops takes a look at a few players here that could benefit from a solid summer.
Anthoney Ray – Midland Valley HS (Graniteville)
Ray a small forward plays over near the Georgia border at Midland Valley HS. Ray will look to run AAU this summer with Big Shots South Carolina and Head Coach Lance Gurley. Ray played the spring AAU season with the Carolina Wolves. The Carolina Wolves seem to be merging with the Karolina Khaos and some kids have been left behind in the move.
Ray a slender-sleek athlete shows to have a nice mid-range game averaged 15 ppg last season for the Mustangs.
Shaquille Johnson – Green Sea Floyds HS (Green Sea) (pictured on front)
Johnson transferred in from West Bladen HS across the North Carolina border. Green Sea is located in Northern Horry County near the North Carolina Border. Johnson should be the most talented player to play there since Larry Wideman played for the Trojans before transferring to Oakbrook Prep then moving onto Furman.
Johnson a extremely athletic kid also excels on the football field as a wide receiver. Johnson likes to stalk the baseline. Johnson will play AAU with a local outfit out of Conway in the Ascend Ballers.
Ahkeem Lawson – Lakewood HS (Sumter)
Lawson is a vastly improved player in the paint for the Gators. Lawson a left-handed post player plays so hard on both ends of the floor and has the ability to carve out space in the paint. Lawson will play AAU with the SC Supreme in the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit this July.
Lawson started his career at Sumter HS before coming over to Lakewood HS last season. Lawson already holds a offer from NCAA D2 program Claflin University.
Look for these 3 players to maybe make some noise this July and see there stock rise. Prep Hoops is your source for all latest basketball recruiting news coast to coast.
