NTBA Standouts
Prep Hoops SC took in some more action at the NTBA National Championships in Myrtle Beach, SC. Here are some players that stood out in performance today.
Marshall Myers (2021) – Cheraw HS / Big Shots South Carolina 15U
Myers came out on fire in the victory today. Myers a point guard knocked down 5 three pointers. Myers should be a great back court mate to Jalen Coit next season for the Braves.
Dashawn Murray (2020) – North Charleston HS / Big Shots South Carolina 15U
Murray DNP yesterday after not having the right paperwork in order to play in the NTBA National Championships. Murray is a high energy kid that just covers so much ground while on the floor. Murray has a great motor that never seems to stop.
Xavier Legette (2020) – Mullins HS / Big Shots South Carolina 16U
Legette a wing player just brings a great attitude and is the ultimate team player. Legette really defends the passing lanes well and will defend anywhere on the floor. Legette is a bit hesitant to shoot the ball on the perimeter at times.
Emmanuel Johnson (2020) – Northwood Academy / Carolina Cavaliers (pictured on front)
Johnson is the son of former USA Olympian Katrina McClain Johnson. McClain Johnson played her college basketball at the University of Georgia and went on to score 2,195 points and is in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Johnson played his freshman season at Military Magnet (North Charleston) where he averaged 5.3 ppg. Johnson 6’5 has a great frame and set of shoulders that likes to bang in the paint. Johnson scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds today in a victory for the Cavaliers. Johnson did struggle at times to finish but stayed positive throughout the game. Johnson plays DE/LB on the gridiron.
Carrele Cooper (2020) – Andrews HS / South Carolina Coastal Elite
Cooper was double dipping today and playing with both Coastal Elite squads. Cooper scored 31 points in the opening game for the 9th grade squad and then played up and scored 10 points in the 10th grade game. Cooper keeps the ball on a string. Cooper plays under control on the floor and really uses the bounce pass very well. Cooper has great court vision.
Johama Tisdale (2017) – C.E. Murray HS / Carolina Knights (UNSIGNED SENIOR)
Tisdale scored 22 points in a close loss to the Kinston Ballers. Tisdale a left-handed point guard averaged 17 ppg this season for the War Eagles. Tisdale 5’10 showed few problems getting into the lane today with his quickness.
