Next Level Invitational: 2019 Sleepers
What sleeper prospects are players that stood out to us at the Next Level Invitational in Wisconsin this past week from the 2019 class? We break down eight guys who might not be house hold names, but are ones to track.
SF Blair Crutcher (Mercury Elite)
This West Aurora 6’5” small forward is a power wing that plays with a lot of toughness. Most of his scores come in the paint. Big time defender that gets after it on that end of the floor!
PF TJ Wicks (Example Sports)
Wicks has major upside in the 2019 class. The Kewanee post is a pogo stick athlete that flashes with his athleticism, but doesn’t have consistent production yet. Potential as a shot blocker and finisher. D1 upside.
PF CJ Wilbourn (Quad City Elite)
Wilbourn is a 6’6” four man from Normal Community has a projectable frame with broad shoulders. He has tremendous physical tools and flashes the ability to finish strong around the hoop.
PF Jermaine Hamlin (Quad City Elite)
Hamlin is a 6’9” big man from Lincoln that has mobility and plus athleticism. Projects as a plus defender at the next level with his rim protecting and rebounding. One to track his offensive development over the next year.
PF Nate Ferguson (Chicago Lockdown)
Ferguson is the #31 prospect in the 2019 class. Skilled forward that also plays with toughness. Can hit a mid-range jumper and fights on the glass. D2’s and LM need to monitor in July.
SG Anthony Fairlee (Illinois Irish)
Absolute freak show athlete! The explosive shooting guard skies above the rim for monster dunks and can take his man off the bounce on occasion. Level will depend on much his skill set comes along.
C Josh Guedet (Illinois Irish)
This Washington big man was solid throughout the week. Big bodied center that is willing to do the dirty work. Rebounds and fights hard on the interior. Scores a couple buckets a game.
SG Max Williams (Made Men)
Williams was great in one game for Made Men coming off the bench. The Latin shooting guard lets it fly from deep! Smooth looking stroke and is a pesky defender.
