Event Recap: Seattle Rotary vs Eastern Washington Elite 15u
Seattle Rotary 15U 63
Eastern Washington Elite Blue 15U 55
Seattle Rotary played a hard fraught game on Saturday. With exceptional play from there guards and Paolo Banchero the score doesn’t tell the whole tale. Seattle Rotary guards are some of the fiercest competitors you will come up against. They pressure you 94 feet, they can penetrate and dish and you have to respect there perimeter game. There is no way to double down because the big man in the middle will punish you. Though they aren’t the tallest team they make it up with there sheer athleticism. The 63 points they scored weren’t scored by one players but by a multitude of players and in different ways. Certain parts of the game they dumped it down to Paulo and let him do work. The other parts came off turnovers created by the rotary guards. This team will be a force to be reckon with and they will only get better and bigger as the years go on.
Eastern Washington Elite couldn’t match the athleticism of rotary but they had some muscle in the paint and kept the rebounding number awfully close. I would expected with rotary’s athleticism they would own the boards. Washington Elite came in and did a pretty good job in sticking to the game plan which was to pressure the ball and on offense drive and kick out for an open 3. Eastern Washington has a couple of promising guards along with a solid post. Eastern Washington in the first half had the lead and did so with a lot of dribble drives. Rotary played a little overly aggressive and tried to go for to many steals. A timeout called in the first half with 8 minutes left is when rotary went on a run and locked in defensively which caused a lot of turnovers by the Eastern Washington guards.
