Big Shots : Myrtle Beach 2 (2021) Standouts
Prep Hoops SC took in the Big Shots – Myrtle Beach 2 session this weekend. The future looks bright in the Palmetto State with some young and upcoming talent. Here is a look at some kids that we had a chance to see play in the 2021 class.
Marcus Lane – Alice Drive M.S. (Sumter)
Lane looked so poised on the floor for such a young age. Lane will either attend Sumter HS or Lakewood HS this coming fall he told Prep Hoops. Lane got into the gaps and showed great speed getting the ball up the floor. Lane never turned the ball over on the offensive end and recorded 8 assists in the game we took in.
Trevonte Brunson – Sumter HS
Brunson was a teammate with Lane last season at Alice Drive M.S. Brunson 6’2 hit a few mid-range jumpers and rebounded on both ends of the floor. Brunson played up with the Big Shots South Carolina 17 later in the day and scored 17 points vs the Carolina Defenders. The Carolina Stampede and Big Shots South Carolina are sister programs.
Justus Boone – Sumter HS
Boone is a raw talent at 6’3. Boone attended Bates M.S. last season. Boone still a bit uncoordinated will grow into his frame in the years to come.
Jalik Wilson – Marion HS
Wilson keeps the ball on a string. Wilson scored 13 points in the win over Team Felton. Wilson 5’10 point guard had great elevation on his shot. Wilson changed gears really well and always found the open man on the offensive end of the floor.
Tanaeri “TJ” Sanders – Marion HS (pictured on front)
Sanders had a great weekend for the Carolina Stampede. Sanders scored 25 points vs Team Felton and had another solid game vs Big Shots West Virginia in a losing effort. Sanders and Wilson both played at Johnakin M.S. last year. Sanders 6’3 likes to attack the basket and go left from the top of the key every time he touches. Sanders finishes well with his left-hand in transition.
Sanders great quality is his passing the basketball. Sanders always seemed to be one pass ahead of his teammates. Sanders and Wilson give the Swamp Foxes a bright future in the Pee Dee of the Palmetto State.
Corey Graham – Manning HS
Graham usually runs with the Carolina Stampede was not in attendance this weekend for the event.
Marshall Myers – Cheraw HS
Myers will look to run the point guard spot this season for the Braves. Myers plays with Big Shots South Carolina 15U. Myers hit several shots today and especially from behind the arch. Myers will team up with Jalen Coit in the back court this fall. Myers played at Long M.S. last season.
