Recruiting Report: Wayne Bristol Jr. (2018)
Wayne Bristol Jr., a class of 2018 wing at Riverdale Baptist, is a strong candidate to break out in his senior year. At 6’6, Bristol possesses an intriguing blend of skill and athleticism, and he’s starting to realize how good he can be.
“I am very versatile. I can drive and finish strong. I can shoot from anywhere. I can defend well. I get my teammates involved. Rebounds, steals, and more,” Bristol explained. “One thing that I do on the court that most people probably don’t see is that whoever I guard doesn’t score.”
Bristol does a great job using his length to disrupt opponents. He has a high motor, and anticipates well defensively. Recently, he’s worked hard on his fitness and becoming a more consistent offensive threat.
“The most improved aspect over the last 12 months is that i’ve gotten stronger, and I can handle the ball better,” said Bristol. “The part of my game that i need to work on next is getting stronger.”
Bristol is hearing from schools of all levels, such as JMU, Radford, and Salisbury. What can he bring to a college program?
“Hard work. A strong work ethic. A willingness to learn and get better. Also to come in ready and help win games.”
The Crusaders graduate two of last season’s top contributors in Deion Hammond and Cyril Ogbuagu. Bristol is expected to step up and help pick up the slack for the lost production.
