Recruiting Report: Tanner Reha (2018)
DeWitt 6-foot-5 shooting guard Tanner Reha is off the board.
He had been playing with Grand Rapids Storm during the spring, but will forego grassroots ball this summer — he committed to D2 Northwood University in May.
The good-sized wing — Michigan’s 31st-ranked 2018 — chose the Timberwolves over three other offers. He always had a feeling that Northwood would be his school.
“I kind of just knew in my head where I was at with all of the schools, and I knew with Northwood that it was the right fit,” said Reha. “So there was really no need to wait it out just to say I received more offers.”
Everything about the school and the program was alluring to Reha. He spoke very passionately about his future school.
“I definitely liked the family feel and the coaching staff. They treat you with great respect, they take of you. They’re just great guys up there,” he said.
“They treat you like more than a player, but as a person to make better, at things other than basketball. Their goal is to make you a better man and get you a degree and a great job after college.”
He added: “The whole thing was a great opportunity. It’s a great business school; I was really happy with the coaching staff, and they play just the way I like to play. I just really enjoyed everything up there, it’s a great experience to be a part of.”
First though, the senior-to-be will spend the rest of June playing with his high school mates, and preparing for his final season of prep ball.
“We have quite a bit of returners,” said Reha. “Right now we’re looking pretty good, for next season, I’m excited.”
