Recruiting Report: Kail Lindgren (2018)
It’s easy to watch Comets Servaty and get caught up focusing on the plethora of big men. Kail Lindgren is a big wing and does a lot of the little things that might not garner as much attention but are every bit as valuable.
The 6-foot-3 wing from St. Cloud Tech has been a steady defensive presence and quality shooter for the Comets, one of the top teams in the state.
“I think the season has gone really well,” said Lindgren. “We started off slow and I think a big part of that was a lot of us were coming from smaller schools where we were used to being the guy. But we’ve really picked it up lately and I think we really started hitting our stride in the Fury tournament.”
Lindgren is undoubtedly of the guys that has benefitted from all that size Comets Servaty is deploying as his shooting and ability to play effectively off the ball meshes perfectly with the rest of the roster.
“We have a lot of length,” said Lindgren. “It helps a lot. That opens things up so much for the perimeter guys.”
At 6-foot-4, Lindgren is a big, solid wing and he uses that size to battle on the offensive glass and finish in traffic when he has the opportunity. He’s a strong cutter off the ball and does well in spot-up situations.
“I’m just trying to improve my game,” said Lindgren. “I’ve gotten a lot bigger and stronger over the last few years and I’ve been in the gym working on my jump shot. I think I’ve been improving. We fit really well as a team.”
Lindgren’s drawn a lot of attention from several colleges this spring/summer.
“I’ve heard from Sioux Falls, Concordia Moorhead, Viterbo and a few others like Chicago and Crown,” Lindgren said.
