Recruiting Report: Bryce Phillips (2018)
A month or so into his 17U season, Bryce Phillips of North St. Paul/Wear Out The Net checked in with Northstar Hoops about his AAU team and his recruitment.
“I’m very glad I went with WOTN,” Bryce told us. “I love what they stand for and how hard we work! My team has great players and I think me and Jon (Martens) were a great pick up to join them! We all play together and unselfish, and when we all play defense and get stops it’s very hard to beat us.”
Bryce is doing well as WOTN’s protagonist. He can spread the ball strategically or take scoring into his own hands. The team is sitting at #7 in our 17U rankings with a 19-9 record.
“(I’ve been working on) facilitating, getting my players open and taking control of the game,” he said. “Creating shots for myself and keeping my team on the same page.”
As colleges continue to watch and evaluate WOTN, a program that has turned out quality D2, NAIA and D3 prospects in the last few years, Bryce has turned some heads.
“University of Jamestown and St. John’s have both contacted me,” he said. “I would like to visit both of those schools, but I don’t have any dates set.”
