Recruiting Report: Ben Wolf (2018)
Naperville Central 6’8” center Ben Wolf is one of the more physically imposing post prospects in the state’s 2018 class. Wolf is a solid rebounder especially in his area. Has strong hands to snatch rebounds. Physical bodied post that has the physical tools to play at the D1 level. Mixes in a couple of strong dunks around the hoop on the offensive end. Every now and then he drops a short jumper. Should be under consideration by low-major D1 programs.
Wolf spoke about his junior campaign.
“I think it was pretty good. The team we moved the ball around a lot and found shooters when I was guarded in the post. As far as our record it wasn’t as good as it should have been, but next year we will be better.”
How did he feel he played from an individual standpoint?
“I thought I played solid. I think I improved a lot from last year in terms of scoring and defense.”
His passing out of the post and when doubled was an aspect that really impressed us.
“That was something that my coach really wanted me to work on so we worked on that in practice.”
What are the strengths of his game?
“Definitely working in the post and in the mid-range. Not the perimeter as much.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“I have been getting a lot of mail from IUPUI, Southern Illinois, UW-Milwaukee, and recently Navy.”
SIU and UW-Milwaukee are both trying to get him on campus for visits.
