Prospect Spotlight: Tashon Brown (2017)
Class of 2017 combo guard standing at 5’10 Tashon Brown played a key role this season for Curtis High School out of University Place, WA and is now running the show for SEATTLE SWISH along side his brother Trevion Brown. A Long and rangy combo guard with a tremendous feel for the game. A Underrated passer that has an advanced feel for the game and getting others involved. Smooth in pick and roll situations making good decisions with the ball. Handles it extremely well and has a high motor.
“Curtis High School was a good experience for me. We finished 4th in the state this year. We had some ups and downs but overall we were able to find out personality within the game and play to our strengths. I think I played good and became one of our most vocal leaders. I facilitated and got everyone involved. Scored when I needed too. Did what I needed to do to help the team win.”
What team are you running with this summer and how is the season going for you so far?
“I am playing for SEATTLE SWISH which is coached by my dad David Brown. We have quite a few high skilled guys along with myself. We’ve been really competing at a high level and winning some games against really good competition. Our July schedule is really stacked. We are playing in Pangos Spectaculars and Fab 48 in California and Vegas. With this being one of our last season playing AAU. We really want to show out. ”
What are the best assets of your game?
“I really like to facilitate and get my team involved. I like to pass. Make the best pass. I consider myself a floor general and someone who the coach can count on late in the game to run the show. I can also score at a high level as well.”
What are you goals for the offseason?
“I want to definitely increase my strength and build my core. We have been working with the Vertimax quite a bit to help with lower body strength and overall core work along with staying in the gym consistently.
With no official offers on the table right now for this young man and a 3.2 GPA, scoring 900 on the SAT and 22 on the ACT. Recruitment should take off this summer for Tashon. His size and skill set should attract some really good D2 programs and maybe some low major D1 interest.
