Prospect Spotlight Jaloni Garner (2018)
Class of 2018 Combo Guard Jaloni Garner is a highflying athletic combo guard from Renton high School (Renton, Washington). This young ball player can break the defender down with the dribble and has a solid mid range game. His passion for the game electrifies the crowd and he feeds off of that energy. While most coaches spend time trying to get their players prepped for big games this young man comes in with that mindset.
I was able to catch up with the young guard and here are a few things we spoke about.
Please describe to me your strength on the basketball court?
“I am a athletic combo guard who can attack the basket and have a good mid range. Having a very good gene pool my athleticism enables me to play above the rim and be a consistent rebounder on the offense of an defense of ends.
During the off-season, what are you looking to improve on?
“I need to become a more consistent three point shooter off the dribble and on the dribble. I also want to tighten up my handles as well because I do see myself playing the point guard position quite a bit at the next level. ”
What AAU organization are you currently playing for?
“I play for northwest prospects and it’s going good for me. I’ve been able to showcase my skills sets at numerous tournaments that are NCAA certified. I look forward to continuing my success in the following months to come.”
What is recruitment looking like for you?
“I’m trying to get recruitment this summer if possible. I feel that I am playing at a D2 level right now and I hope to start picking up some of those offers along with hopefully some low major D1 offers.”
With the viewing period underway this young man should start to see some offers begin to pile up.
