Kansas Team Camp Recap: (Posts)
POSTS
The Kansas University Team Camp was held over the weekend in Lawrence and featured more than 20 teams from across Kansas competing in the field. While we weren’t able to see everyone, here is a run down of some of the top players throughout the weekend.
Xavier Cason, 6’5, PF/C, 2018, Junction City (Kan.)
Kid has an old-school feel to his game. Is a tough, hard-nosed performer in the paint that brings a workman like attitude to the court. Is a vocal leader. Cason is a good rebounder, can finish around the bucket and showed off an outside shooting stroke as well.
Zane Meeks, 6’6, PF/C, 2019, Shawnee Mission East (Kan.)
Physical post player with good size and strong build. Meeks is a guy who is willing to battle in the paint, defend rebound and at the offensive end is a good screener and passer. He showed a smooth outside shooting touch as well.
Reece Williams, 6’7, PF/C, 2020, Leavenworth (Kan.)
One of the state’s top young post prospects, Williams is a strong, physical interior player with terrific footwork and an aggressive mentality. He has a nice feel for post play for a young player and is capable of carrying a team at the offensive end of the court, demanding double teams and opening things up for his teammates. He is also a good ball handler for a big man and can bring the ball up the court off a defensive board.
