Kansas Team Camp Recap: (Guards)
GUARDS
The Kansas University Team Camp was held over the weekend in Lawrence and featured more than 20 teams from across Kansas competing in the field. While we weren’t able to see everyone, here is a run down of some of the top players throughout the weekend.
Billy Bartlett, 6’1, G, 2019, Blue Valley Southwest (Kan.)
A rare three-sport standout, Bartlett was suffering from rust after spending a lot of the summer focused on baseball. However, he shows the ability to get to the bucket and has a nice outside shooting stroke.
AJ Dickerson, 6’2, G, 2019, Junction City (Kan.)
Dickerson is emerging this offseason as a player to watch in the rising junior class. He has a strong build and is a good athlete, able to attack the bucket off the bounce and create his own shot off the dribble. Dickerson is also a good outside shooter and is capable of getting hot and making several tough shots in a row.
Cameron Riley, 5’8, G, 2018, Liberal (Kan.)
Team lost a lot from last year’s squad as Liberal graduated 10 seniors from a squad that went 18-3. Riley will be counted on for leadership and production as the teams most experienced returning player. He is a solid ball handler and stepped up and made several big buckets in the games we watched. He can get to the basket a little and has a nice outside shooting stroke.
